First Full Week

Posted: Sep 17, 2020 by: naylorn on: Year 5 Blog

We have made it through the first full week back!

We are so proud of how the children have settled back in and are mostly trying to follow the new school systems and rules. We have FERDI and his CAP (test your children, see if they know what it means), many sanitising and washing hands stations and our own personal euipment to use.

It has been a packed week and a half. We have already done a science experiement, music lessons - some children even showing their talents on a glockenspiel, some ICT, practising our coding (between you and me the children are better at it then the adults). In maths, we have focused on rounding and in literacy we are building up to writing our own stories next week using adjectives and adverbs. Mrs Austerfields new assemblies have been a hit and we are already handing out some Thumbs Up Awards. I can't believe it has only been one week!

Children have been set homework on Mirodo this week, unless you returned the slip requesting paper homework, passwords are stuck in their planners. Remember that homework is set on a Friday and due in on a Wednesday. Spellings are also set (see below)

As always, if you need to speak to us, please email year5teachers@asquithprimary.org.

Have a fantasic weekend!
