Hope you have all had a good day today. Thank you for all your replies so far for the transition days! If you have not yet let us know, please email us soon so we can add you to the list.

.

Wednesday's activities are:

.

Football Jaguars- Can you start to write your story using the story decisions you made yesterday?

.

Have a lovely evening everyone!

joanne on: Year 3 Blog

What a lovely 'summer' day we have had today... I hope you have all stayed wrapped up at home and are keeping cosy.

Jake has been very busy with his work at home. He has made a fantastic jellyfish diorama, complete with jellyfish facts, and written a brilliant newspaper report on the Pirates Next Door! He had a trip to Whitby- look at the size of those whale bones!

.

Tuesday's activities are:

Writing- Language of persuasion- what can we do to persuade? Revise the features of a persuasive letter. Can you identify the features of persuasion in the WAGOLL?

.

Football Jaguars- Use the story writing decisions sheet yo help you create the beginnings of your own story!

.

Reading- Log on to bug club and read one of your books in your library or complete your reading questions from yesterday.

.

Maths- After your practice yesterday you should be excellent at column subtraction. This time you have pictures and tables to  find the total height or length.

Well done to you all! You have all read quite a few books on Bug Club too, not just one! You are little bookworms!

Hopefully you can relax over the weekend, then look forward to some more activities on Monday!

.

Monday's activities are:

Writing- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CiIVJWizY5E

Watch the clip of 'The pirates next door' again. How do you think Jim Lad is made to feel? Do you agree with how the neighbours treated the pirates? Write the pirates’ feelings in the thought bubbles.

.

Football Jaguars- Can you write some sentences to go with the creative thinking work in your packs? These are lots of different pictures with questions on to make you wonder! Choose 3 that you like the look of an have a go at writing a sentence for each.

.

Reading- Start 'Blackbeard's bargain' questions, and finish these on Tuesday. These are quite long questions again, so you might need a little extra time to complete them.

or

Complete 'I  do like to be beside the seaside' depending on your book band.

.

Art and design- Design a sculpture using your recycling! Can you design something that makes people think about their actions? You could create a sea creature who is struggling to survive perhaps. Try to link this to the research you did on the effects of plastic on our oceans, and the poster you made asking people to pick up their litter after their beach visits. Art is a brilliant way to get people thinking!

.

Have a good weekend! It is so exciting that we might be seeing some of you in a couple of weeks time! Letters will be coming to you next week, so check your emails too in case we have sent these electronically. Please reply to your class teacher to  let them know if you will be attending the transition days. Unfortunately, we can only offer you one day due to the guidelines in place, and are unable to change this day. Fingers crossed lots of you can make it in to school. It will be lovely to see your smiling faces!
